The Village USA is the "caulk" for foster children most vulnerable to "falling through the cracks".
The ministry serves as a "catalyst" and "orchestrator" of transformational experiences, child development opportunities and a sustained, metropolitan-wide presence specifically supporting these "serial" foster children
We help foster children 7 to 12 years of age. Boys and girls, most likely minority and in DFCS custody and in first/entry level of care. We also connect with the foster children’s extended family and siblings offering them exposure to powerful positive role models - our volunteers.
We use an aggressive system coordinating through our partners such as Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts of America, the Royal Family Kids’ Camps, local businesses, churches, and others. We provide summer and weekend programs culturally adapted and effective in providing transformational experiences for targeted foster children. We expose them to real life experiences, train and mentor them – creating belonging and hope.
